Profile & Journey
Dr. Nyoman Artha Megayasa, Sp.N., S.H., FNR is a neurology and neurorestoration specialist practicing in Denpasar, Bali. His academic journey spans foundational medical training, neurology specialisation, an international neurorestoration fellowship, and a law degree — a rare combination that reflects his commitment to holistic, evidence-based, and ethically grounded medical care.
Born and raised in Bali, Dr. Nyoman brings a strong local cultural sensitivity to his approach to patients. He believes that the best neurological recovery occurs when modern medical intervention is paired with a deep understanding of the patient's social, cultural, and psychological context. This philosophy is reflected in every aspect of his practice — from thorough initial consultations to personalised rehabilitation programmes.
Since completing his neurorestoration fellowship, Dr. Nyoman has actively integrated the latest neural stimulation technologies into rehabilitation protocols for stroke, Parkinson's disease, and balance disorder patients. He is also one of the few clinicians in Indonesia to combine neurology expertise with a working knowledge of health law — a perspective that enables him to be a stronger advocate for the rights of patients and their families.

Why Neurorestoration?
Neurorestoration is more than a subspecialty — it represents a paradigm shift in how we understand recovery after neurological injury and disease. Where conventional approaches often stop at symptom management, neurorestoration asks a deeper question: how can the nervous system be guided to rewire itself, restore functions once considered permanently lost, and meaningfully improve a patient's quality of life?
My interest in this field grew from years of clinical observation. Stroke patients with severe motor deficits — declared by standard protocols to have reached a recovery plateau — showed substantial improvement when given structured neural stimulation and neuroplasticity-based rehabilitation. These repeated observations led me to pursue formal training in neurorestoration and integrate it fully into daily practice.
The legal dimension — earned through a Bachelor of Law degree — complements the clinical approach with a strong ethical and regulatory awareness. In an increasingly complex medical landscape, a clinician who understands health law can be a better advocate for patients: ensuring that every therapeutic decision is grounded not only in scientific evidence but also in respect for patient rights and professional ethical standards.
